Hi, my name is John DeBoy, and I am a general contractor on the Outer Banks. While rummaging through an antique store in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, I came across a set of four old books called Audels Carpenters and Builders Guild circa 1920. On the first page of every book is the written quote above. Around the same time, I was developing my website, and had to come up with a mission statement. Well low and behold, there it was on the front page of every one of these four books. John Ruskin's quote was exactly how I felt about my role as a custom home builder and remodeler. Our mission at DeBoy Construcion & Remodling, Inc. is to deliver a product that my son would be proud to say "..my dad built that".

We are a design-build construction company that can deliver stock plans or create custom drawings to your own specifications. I am fortunate and proud to say that I am a "hands on" contractor with 20+ years as a master carpenter, which guilds me in the hindsight required to be an efficient and reliable home builder.
